ABOUT THE HOUSE

At the end of 2017, we found the house we had been looking for all those years: a Galician stone house on the Camino de Santiago. On the eve of Christmas Eve, we moved to km 15.360 of the Portuguese Way. What we did not know at that time was that our specific need for housing would also be the fulfillment of an even greater dream.
At the beginning of 2019 we presented an offer for the house next door “A Casa Vella” (“The Old House, in Galician),
a more than 200 year old house, to turn it into a place of refuge, rest, care and hospitality to those who need it: Casa de Pan.
At the end of that same year and- through crowdfunding- we managed to raise the necessary funds to buy it.
Finally, in September 2020 (a little delayed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic) we formally finished the purchase process and began with the restoration work.
We hope to have it ready and open within the next Xacobeo year 2021.
